16/10/2009: The Gelding Hønnerups Driver with Andreas Helgstrand in the saddle lived up to its title as World Champion when it won the Danish Equestrian Federation’s Championship for five-year dressage horses. Rebelle 5 ridden by Maria Anita Andersen came second while Sunset Hit and Rikke Dupont came third.
Superior victory for Hønnerups Driver
It was no surprise that Hønnerups Driver by Blue Hors Hertug won the final at the Danish Equestrian Federation’s Championship for five-year dressage horses. The gelding is World Champion as well. With Andreas Helgstrand in the saddle, Hønnerups Driver virtually danced its way around Arena Fyn in Odense Congress Center without displacing even a single hoof. After finishing their programme, the equipage received the most exuberant applause of the day. The arena resounded with cheers from the audience as the judges announced the marks. 9.7 for the trot (the highest mark of the day), 9.5 for the canter, 9.2 for ridability and a total score of 9.14 – 91.40 percent. Contrary to many of the other horses competing in the Championship Hønnerups Driver is bred in Denmark at Hønnerups in Gelsted. Hønnerups Driver was recently sold to Hanni Toosby Kasprzak thus ensuring the horse staying on Danish soil.
A strong stride by Rebelle
The mare Rebelle 5 with Maria Anita Andersen in the saddle delivered a programme which resulted in a total score of 85.20 percent in the fina at the Danish Equestrian Federation’s Championship for five-year dressage horses. That is almost the same score as the winner of the final for four-year horses, Tailormade Temptation. Rebelled is a mare by Blue Hors Don Schufro who is also the grandfather of the winner of the class, Hønnerups Driver.
An impressive third place for Sunset Hit
Sunset Hit by Sandro Hit came third at the Danish Equestrian Federation’s Championship for five-year dressage horses. The black gelding was ridden by Rikke Dupont and finished at a final score of 82.00 percent.
