Edward Gal

With a unique score of 90.75 % in Grand Prix Freestyle Edward Gal struck all records when he won the European Championship in England 2009. He has been trained by the queen of dressage Anky van Grunsven and he has been first runner up at two World Cup finals. Edward Gal has found a fabulous partner in the black stallion Moorlands Totilas with whom he in a few years has impressed the world of dressage. And with the latest world record at the European Championships it seems that there are no limits for the achievements of this partnership.

Dressage champion
Edward Gal is known as the man who sent dressage to a whole new level. In front of thousands of spectators at the European Championships in 2009 he and Moorlands Totilas impressed with a show of such superior force, elasticity and power that the judges repeatedly wished for a higher scale. He is a part of the almost invincible Dutch national team, and in 2009 he moved from no. 31 to no. 3 at the world ranking of dressage.

A horse of a different world
In Moorlands Totilas Edward Gal has found a horse which seems to possess an extra gear and more power than most. And the best part is that the 9 years old stallion has only just begun:

"Totilas is a very special horse. He is incredibly talented and he is simply a pleasure to ride. Totilas is everything that a rider could wish for. It is hard to believe that he can be even better when he 23 times got 10 in score and a total over 90 % at the European Championship. But I actually felt that there were exercises we could have done even better, and it is really frightening to think of", says Edward Gal.

Together with Laura Werner, Edward Gal has been running the international dressage stable Werner/Gal since 1996.
